The Leica Motor M is fitted on the camera in place of the base cover. The ergonomically styled handle houses two 3 Volt 123 A lithium batteries, providing sufficient capacity for shooting a minimum of 100 36-exposure rolls (at 20° C) at a frame rate of either 1.5/second or 3/second. It is just 18.5mm high, and without batteries weighs 225 grams.
