Mounted on the FX5's Multi Interface (MI) Shoe, the XLR Handle Unit connects XLR microphones for high-quality audio capture within the Sony ecosystem. With 96 kHz/32-bit float recording, it handles everything from whispers to sudden loud sounds while reducing the need for gain adjustments and maximizing post-production flexibility.

• 32-bit float recording delivers a wide dynamic range and greatly reduces clipping risk, even when levels are adjusted during editing, making post-production more flexible and reducing the need for precise gain settings while shooting.
• Dual ADCs combine two analogue-digital converters operating at different gain levels to capture a wide dynamic range, from subtle to loud sounds, converting audio into 32-bit float digital data that preserves full dynamic range for post-production.
• 4-channel audio input supports simultaneous multi-microphone recording to independent tracks, with safety channels and flexible input assignment across CH1–CH4 for greater creative control.
• Seamless Sony ecosystem integration: simply attach the unit to the FX5's MI Shoe for cable- and battery-free power and audio connections, delivering high-quality, edit-resilient sound with independent 32-bit float WAV recording.
• Ergonomic, portable design with an extended grip for comfortable camerawork, even in low-position shooting. Three anti-rotation threaded holes allow secure accessory mounting, plus an additional hole for a cold shoe.
