Description
The Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-70 f/2.8 ASPH. is a universal standard zoom for the SL-System, equally at home in reportage, travel, studio, architecture and landscape. Its constant f/2.8 aperture across the range gives consistent exposure and depth-of-field control for both stills and video.
Its optical system comprises nineteen elements in fifteen groups, with three elements carrying aspherical surfaces on both sides and nine anomalous-partial-dispersion elements correcting chromatic aberration. A fast, quiet stepper motor moves a single lightweight element for near lag-free internal-focus autofocus, down to 0.18 m at 24 mm for a 1:4.5 maximum magnification. An eleven-blade diaphragm shapes the out-of-focus rendering.
Built from a robust metal body with dust and splash protection and an E82 front filter thread, it works on SL cameras and any L-Mount Alliance body.
