Description

Thanks to its apochromatic correction, the APO-Summicron-M 50 f/2 ASPH. delivers exceptionally high sharpness while remaining entirely free from colour fringing and aberration, even wide open. The f/2 lens speed enables clean subject separation with a soft, unobtrusive bokeh, and the neutral colour rendering makes it a dependable companion for portraits, reportage and everyday photography.

The optical system comprises eight lenses in five groups, incorporating an aspherical surface and several glass elements with anomalous partial dispersion, while a floating element maintains image quality even in the close-up range. Its close focus distance is 0.7 metres.

Handmade in Germany from solid brass and aluminium and built to the most exacting standards, the APO-Summicron-M 50 f/2 ASPH. was the first lens designed to fully exploit modern high-resolution sensors, delivering superb corner-to-corner detail in every situation.
