Description
The APO-LANTHAR 90mm F4 Close Focus VM is an exceptionally high-performance manual focus medium telephoto lens designed for full-frame M-mount cameras.
Its advanced apochromatic optical design effectively suppresses virtually all optical aberrations, including axial chromatic aberration, while delivering outstanding sharpness, contrast, and resolution across the entire image. Despite retaining the classic f/4 aperture long favoured for 90mm rangefinder lenses, the optical formula makes no compromises. Six of the eight lens elements incorporate anomalous partial dispersion glass, arranged in seven groups, to achieve exceptional image quality.
Compact and lightweight, the lens measures just 54.8 mm from the mount and weighs only 235 g, making it an ideal travel companion. Its compact dimensions also prevent the lens from intruding into the optical viewfinder, ensuring an unobstructed shooting experience.
Precision Rangefinder Focusing
A highly accurate rangefinder coupling mechanism, combined with a beautifully engineered all-metal helicoid, provides an exceptionally smooth and precise manual focusing experience.
The lens focuses down to 0.5 m by extending the helicoid beyond the standard 0.7 m rangefinder coupling distance. A tactile click clearly indicates the transition between the rangefinder-coupled and close-focus ranges.
Outstanding Close-Up Performance
With a maximum magnification of 0.28×, exceeding 1:4 macro reproduction, the APO-LANTHAR excels at close-up photography. Its apochromatic design maintains outstanding sharpness and colour accuracy even at minimum focusing distance, with virtually no degradation in image quality.
Premium Construction
Available in black or silver, the lens features an all-metal construction that reflects Voigtländer's renowned craftsmanship.
A dedicated metal lens hood is included. Designed to extend only 9 mm, it minimizes obstruction of the viewfinder while effectively reducing flare and maintaining the lens' elegant appearance.
