Description
The Tiffen NATural ND filters are the pinnacle of neutral density technology that began developing with the advent of digital sensors for photography and video capture. They were designed to address the most common issues that cinematographers and photographers face with other ND filters: color shift, IR contamination, full spectrum light coverage, longevity, and durability.
The NATural NDs maintain the most neutral colors, even at higher stops, to make sure the images you create match the images you see with your own eyes. Lots of NDs shift images by adding green, gray or blue tints, but the NATural NDs allow you to capture exactly what is in front of the camera.
The NATural ND filters use Tiffen’s award-winning ColorCore® process for creating filters that last. By laminating the filter effect between two pieces of Water White glass, the NATural NDs have an effect that won’t scratch off or be damaged by regular day-to-day use. It also means that Tiffen filters can be resurfaced in the case they do get scratched and the effect will remain untouched and intact
These filters have a unique bronzed look to them which comes from the dual-layer ND element. Because one of the elements is designed to reflect away IR light, the filters appear to have this brownish-red color. In fact, that color will have no impact on the image as it is being reflected away before the light can pass through and reach the lens. So far, this is the only way to assure that an ND will create a clear, neutral image and last for years and years.
