Description

The new and improved version of the CNC machined lens cap for the Leica Q range of cameras. Precision machined from aerospace grade aluminium and hard anodised in a deep black for the best protection and colour.

After over a 18 months of prototyping, testing and design work, Otect arrived at what thery believe is the ultimate solution for all Leica Q users. This brand new design features a unique locking mechanism for an incredibly secure fit to the lens hood of the camera. We have been trying to get this cap to fail during testing but it just refuses to move and stays firmly affixed to the end of the hood as if held in with magnets.

Effortless to remove and install. Otect guarantee you will be happy with how satisfying it is to use. They owe this to the unique injection moulded shield and spring mechanism built into the product. Two tabs snap into the inner surfaces of the lens hood for a strong positive lock that leaves no play between the hood and the cap.

Still no branding on the front for a discrete, stealthy look which blends right in to the aesthetics of the camera. The surfaces of the cap are perfectly planar with the surfaces of the hood so this just feels like an extension of the camera. Now with two removal tabs on the product and you can install it either way as it is symmetrical.

Even greater clearance than the 1st generation Q-Cap, there is more than enough room between the cap and the front lens element for big filters or variable NDs. Super slim design adds less than 2mm to the length of the camera when installed.
