Description
The Vario-Elmarit-SL 24-90 f/2.8-4 ASPH. is the original premium standard zoom of the SL-System, offering the widest range of the SL standard zooms, from true wide angle to short telephoto, with the highest image quality and optical image stabilisation. Together with the APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL 90-280 it covers 24 to 280 mm.
Its optical system comprises eighteen elements in fifteen groups, with four aspherical surfaces and eleven anomalous-partial-dispersion elements for reduced chromatic aberration and distortion across the range. A linear stepping motor drives fast, nearly silent internal-focus autofocus; the focusing range runs from 0.3 m at 24 mm and 0.45 m at 90 mm, for a 0.14× (about 1:7) maximum magnification.
Multi-axis optical image stabilisation compensates up to 3.5 stops (CIPA). Made in Germany with robust, weather-sealed construction and an E82 front filter thread, the lens weighs 1140 g.
