Description
The Super-Vario-Elmarit-SL 14-24 f/2.8 ASPH. is the first SL lens to reach 14 mm, a fast ultra-wide-angle zoom with a sweeping field of view of up to about 114°. With a constant f/2.8 across the whole range, it produces brilliant, high-quality stills and video in almost any light.
Eighteen elements in thirteen groups, including three aspherical elements (six aspherical surfaces) and several low-dispersion glasses, excellently correct the distortion and aberrations inherent to ultra-wide designs, keeping subjects sharp into the corners at every aperture and focal length. The close focus distance is 0.28 m.
An integrated fixed metal lens hood shields the strongly curved front element and reduces flare, while a filter holder on the bayonet side allows the use of sheet filters. All-metal, weather-sealed construction and the fast Dual Synchro Drive autofocus make it ideal for architecture, interiors, landscape, street and even astrophotography.
