Description
Group portraits, landscapes and architecture: whenever the scene calls for a wider view, the Super-Vario-Elmar-SL 16-35 f/3.5-4.5 ASPH. is a versatile wide-angle zoom that extends the SL zoom portfolio into the wide-angle range. Together with the 24-90 and 90-280 zooms it helps cover 16 to 280 mm.
Its newly designed optical system uses eighteen elements in twelve groups, with two aspherical elements correcting monochromatic aberration and three anomalous-partial-dispersion elements correcting chromatic aberration, for exceptional performance at all distances and apertures. A floating-element, internal-focus design keeps the overall length unchanged while focusing down to 0.25 m.
A specially developed drive combining a stepping motor with linear positioning delivers fast, almost silent and precise autofocus. Made in Germany with robust, weather-sealed construction and an AquaDura coating, it uses an E82 front filter thread.
