Description
The Super-APO-Summicron-SL 21 f/2 ASPH. is the world's first 21 mm APO lens for full-frame cameras, a milestone in optical design. Its apochromatic correction, unique among super-wide-angle lenses, delivers exceptional contrast even in difficult light, with natural skin tones, smooth gradients and corner-to-corner sharpness.
Fourteen lens elements in eleven groups, three of which carry aspherical surfaces, provide the highest image quality even at the widest aperture, fully exploiting the high-resolution sensors of the SL cameras. The close focusing range down to 0.21 m enables striking detail shots, while the f/2 aperture adds creative control over depth of field.
Equipped with Leica's fast, near-silent Dual Synchro Drive autofocus and sharing the compact body and E67 filter size of the APO-Summicron-SL family, it excels in landscape, interior, photojournalism, studio and architectural work.
