Description
Whether for detailed landscapes, high-contrast images in difficult light or close-up subjects with shallow depth of field, the Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 ASPH. delivers extraordinary results. It comprises nine lenses in five groups, including an aspherical element and several elements with anomalous partial dispersion, while a floating-element design keeps optical performance at the highest level even at short distances.
Compared with its predecessor it offers visibly improved bokeh, an extended close focus distance and an integrated lens hood, and now uses eleven aperture blades instead of nine, all without increasing the lens's dimensions. Its closest focus distance is 0.4 metres: down to 0.7 metres this works through the rangefinder on every M camera; from 0.7 to 0.4 metres, after a slight perceptible resistance, focusing is carried out via Live View, the Visoflex or the Leica FOTOS app, aided by a 176-degree focus rotation.
Across the entire focusing range the lens delivers high detail, excellent sharpness and natural contrast, while keeping the compact format and balanced handling that make it so easy to use.
