Description
Leica has always reimagined what is, redefining the boundaries of what is possible. The fast and powerful Summicron-M 28 f/2 ASPH. embodies that legacy. With its state-of-the-art technical features, it is designed to make the most of the latest camera sensors and those still to come.
With a minimum focusing distance of 40 centimetres, this wide-angle lens unlocks new photographic opportunities. The capability stems from a dual-curve focusing mechanism that expands the rotational range of the distance ring. Focusing is managed through the rangefinder down to 70 centimetres; from 70 to 40 centimetres you rely on Live View, the Visoflex 2 or the Leica FOTOS app.
At its maximum aperture the lens already delivers rich contrast, finely differentiated detail, a soft and smooth bokeh and very high resolution. Its recalculated optical design almost completely eliminates the astigmatic field differences caused by the sensor cover glass, ensuring excellent corner-to-corner image quality. An integrated, retractable round lens hood adjusts with a single twist.
