Description
The Summaron-M 28 f/5.6 marks a return to photography in its purest form. Drawing inspiration from the original Summaron-M of the 1950s, it combines authentic image character with cutting-edge manufacturing precision. With its subtle contrast, natural vignetting and a distinctive aesthetic, it brings poetic depth to every shot, stripped back to the essentials for photographers with an appreciation for heritage and style.
Six lenses arranged in four groups form a strictly symmetrical design that faithfully reflects the historical model, while the current version adds the M bayonet with 6-bit coding for communication between camera and lens. Its close focus distance is 1 metre. The all-metal housing features a traditional distance scale and a focusing rod, and each Summaron-M is crafted in Wetzlar.
The lens is based on a screw-mount design originally produced at the Leitz factory in Wetzlar between 1955 and 1963. Its distinctive rendering, virtually impossible to replicate digitally, makes it a true classic and an ideal companion for quick, discreet, spontaneous photography.
