Description
The new Leica Rangemaster CRF MAX features the world’s brightest active-matrix microLED display in compact rangefinders – without compromising optical quality. A key feature of this display is its customisability, allowing it to be optimally adapted to individual requirements. Selected functions and measured values are presented with clarity, including range values such as actual range, calculated ballistic range, and Equivalent Horizontal Range (EHR). Additional information such as shot correction values in various output formats, hit probability, and wind data can also be displayed. The interface can be further personalised to show a compass if desired. Small icons provide useful indicators such as battery status, measurement mode, target mode, selected units, and Bluetooth® connectivity. Angle, air pressure, and temperature readings may be accessed in a secondary display.
Leica Optics and Intuitive Operation
The Rangemaster CRF MAX offers Leica’s renowned high-performance optics within the compact class of rangefinders for hunting and shooting. The 7x24 optics deliver exceptional image quality, high detail resolution, and outstanding colour fidelity. The outer lens element is protected with AquaDura® coating to repel dirt and moisture, and the device is fully waterproof. Operation is intuitive and straightforward, with one button dedicated to distance measurement and another to controlling the display menu.
Unique Terrain Navigation with Leica ProTrack (LPT™)
Equipped with the exclusive Leica ProTrack (LPT™) system, the CRF MAX offers unique terrain navigation to target points. After rangefinding, users may choose from three navigation options. Measured terrain points can be synchronised with a BaseMap® Pro subscription, allowing the full range of BaseMap® functions to be used via the smartphone app connected via Bluetooth®. Alternatively, a target marker can be set directly in Google Maps, or navigation can be conducted using the built-in compass with in-app tracking.
Eye-Safe Laser with a Range of up to 3700 Yards
The Leica Rangemaster CRF MAX employs a long-range Class 1 laser that is safe for both humans and animals. Despite its safety, the laser achieves an exceptional measurement range of up to 3700 yards. In standard mode, measurements up to 2000 yards are completed in just 0.3 seconds. For distances beyond 2000 yards, the long-range mode is automatically activated, with a measurement time of 1.2 seconds. At close range, the precision is especially impressive, with an accuracy of ±0.5 yards up to 200 yards, making it ideal for both bow hunters and sport shooters.
Applied Ballistics Elite® Integration
Through the Leica Ballistics app powered by Applied Ballistics®, users can fully customise their rangefinder, create and store personal ballistic profiles, use Leica ProTrack (LPT™) navigation, and even control the device remotely. Pairing, programming, transferring, and applying settings are simple and streamlined, with real-time data transfer ensuring seamless integration. Applied Ballistics Elite® is the world’s most powerful ballistics program, offering a database of over 800 cartridges while also allowing for custom entries. The system incorporates environmental sensors and advanced parameters such as the Coriolis effect, spin drift, AB custom drag models, sight scale factor, and additional user-defined profiles. Ballistic outputs are calculated accurately across the full measurement distance.
Shot Probability Analysis
A distinctive feature of the Rangemaster CRF MAX is its ability to calculate the probability of hitting a target before the shot is taken. The “Shot Probability Analysis” appears on the display both as a numerical percentage and as a circular graphic. The calculation takes into account numerous factors, including environmental conditions, rifle type, ammunition, and the characteristics of the target. Within seconds, a technically determined probability of a hit is displayed, offering users an additional measure of safety and decision-making support.
Selectable Target Modes
The Rangemaster CRF MAX provides three selectable target modes, allowing users to decide which point should be measured. In “First” mode, the device targets the nearest object, making it possible to measure very small objects precisely. “Best” mode responds to the optimal reflection of the laser beam, while “Last” mode registers the furthest background distance. These selectable modes ensure maximum flexibility for a wide variety of applications.
