Purchased new in 2022 by a long-time Leica practitioner. This beauty saw very little action. The lens was kept in its case and box most of the time. The new Glossy Black Paint version peaked his interest. He is trading this one for the flashy glossy version :-)

This classic rebirth is as good as brand-new.

A new version of one of the most famous and admired Leica M lenses returns. The Leica Noctilux-M 50 f/1.2 ASPH. has been carefully adapted to the design of modern lenses and, despite modern technology, delivers the unique look at open aperture that continues to impress creative photographers today. Once it has been stopped down to f/2.8, the Noctilux-M 50 f/1.2 ASPH. delivers sharp images that live up to any quality expectations of modern-day digital photograph.

-Third lens of Leica's Classics Range
-The Noctilux 50/1.2 from 1966 was the world's first lens to feature aspherical lens elements
-Only 1757 units of the original version were produced
-Most compact and lightest Noctilux lens ever made
-Unique dreamlike look at open aperture, with exquisite bokeh
-Very sharp and high contrast results from aperture 2,8
-Optical calculation and construction almost identical to the original version from 1966
-Black anodized aluminium lens barrel
-Vintage lens container made of transparent plastic - like in original days
-Packaging inspired by the original box
