Description
As a moderate wide-angle prime, the APO-Summicron-SL 35 f/2 ASPH. is almost a universal lens. Its fast autofocus, robust construction and exceptional image quality make it outstanding for reportage and a convincing choice for architecture, landscape, portrait and studio work.
The optical system comprises thirteen elements in eleven groups, of which three elements carry five aspherical surfaces, while nine elements of special anomalous-partial-dispersion glass provide apochromatic correction so that even highlights stay free of colour fringing. Its close focus distance is 0.27 m.
Perfectly matched to the SL-System and designed for a long professional life, it shares the compact body, handling and E67 filter size of the other Summicron-SL lenses, with fast, near-silent Dual Synchro Drive autofocus.
