Description
The APO-Summicron-SL 28 f/2 ASPH. brings a classic wide-angle focal length to the APO-Summicron-SL line as the first true wide-angle of the series. It renders edge-to-edge sharpness without distortion and, thanks to apochromatic correction, images stay virtually free of colour fringing even at high-contrast edges.
Its optical system uses thirteen elements in ten groups, with three elements carrying six aspherical surfaces and eight elements of anomalous-partial-dispersion glass for chromatic correction across the entire focusing range, down to a close focus of 0.24 m. The f/2 aperture cleanly separates subject from background while maintaining maximum sharpness.
Robust all-metal construction, weather sealing against dust and spray, an AquaDura coating on the exposed surfaces and the fast Dual Synchro Drive autofocus make it a dependable professional tool. It shares the E67 filter size and body of the APO-Summicron-SL family.
