The optical construction incorporates five ED and two Super ED elements for reducing aberrations and creating detail-rich imagery. Helping users stay locked onto their subjects is the lens's near-silent and high-performing linear autofocus motor. Additionally, this lens is reliable in slightly harsh weather conditions due to its weather-resistant design, helping to prevent dust and water from degrading it.
Optimized Handling, Class-Leading Portability
Refined for maneuverability, the FUJINON GF 500mm f/5.6 maintains a considerably portable size for its class and weighs approximately 3 lb, excluding its lens caps, hood and tripod collar foot. This is a massive benefit to handheld shooters, as is the six stops of image stabilization provided. Attached to the lens is a rotatable tripod collar for maximum stability when shooting while mounted. Multiple buttons and switches are also available on the lens for making quick adjustments such as toggling image stabilization or changing from full focus to 16.4' to infinity.
