Description
From 1990 to 2026, Éric Côté wandered the streets of Quebec City with a Leica slung over his shoulder, always searching for those fleeting moments when humanity reveals itself in its purest form. This monograph brings together 251 black-and-white street photographs captured in public spaces, revealing moments that reflect the human condition.
His timeless images explore universal themes such as solitude, love, friendship, solidarity, and resilience with honesty and simplicity. They reflect a constant attentiveness to people and their surroundings, as well as a deep interest in the connections that unite us.
Through simple gestures, an exchanged glance, an outstretched hand, or an unexpected conversation on a park bench, his photographs tell quiet stories of solidarity, identity, and hope for living together. They offer a gentle counterpoint to the harshness of the world and celebrate the invisible bonds that connect us all.
From Old Quebec to Limoilou, from Saint-Roch to Montcalm and Saint-Jean-Baptiste, each photograph reflects a distinctive, attentive, and deeply human perspective. Québec, Moments d'éternité is not a guided journey, but an invitation to wander freely, to see differently, and to pause for the simplicity of a single moment, a glance, or a silence, where the ordinary quietly becomes universal.
